Secil Baysal
Secil is an executive, entrepreneur and operator with two IPOs under his belt. He specializes in product strategy, M&A, strategic partnerships and scale-up.
Secil started his career at McKinsey in Europe working on financial services projects in Paris, Milan and Istanbul offices. He went on to join Capital One in 2002, initially as the chief of staff to Nigel Morris, and transitioned to manage the new-to-credit segment. He was one of the early employees of Green Dot, joining in 2005, where he built the Green Dot Network, the cash and money movement division, into a $200M business at the time of their IPO.
After his success with Green Dot Network, he took on the role of General Manager at FastPay, a vertically focused invoice finance and B2B payments platform for the media industry. FastPay was acquired by AvidXchange in July 2021, three months before its IPO. After the IPO, he played an integral role in running and integrating the FastPay business into Avid while launching an invoice accelerator product for the overall company.
Secil has been an active angel in Silicon Beach and has been serving as a trustee and the finance chair at the Lycée International de Los Angeles. He holds an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and a dual degree in Economics and Business Administration from Bosphorus University in Istanbul and is fluent in Turkish, French and Italian.
He lives in Pasadena with his wife and three kids and enjoys ping-pong and outdoor activities in southern California.
